Ampark Food Support
We understand that many in our community may be facing uncertainty due to the potential loss of SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) and food stamp benefits on November 1st.
If you or someone you know is experiencing food insecurity, please know that you are not alone. Attached are several resources—both local and citywide—that can help you access food and navigate this transition.
-
Parent Handbook
Our Parent Handbook is a valuable resource that outlines everything you need to know about our school, including our daily routines, academic programs, and important policies. It’s designed to keep you informed about our school’s mission, safety guidelines, and ways to stay involved in your child’s learning journey. Click the link below to access the handbook and learn more about how we can work together for your child’s success!
-
School Leadership Team
A School Leadership Team (SLT) is a group of parents, teachers, and staff members who work together to create plans and set goals for our school. They help develop the school's yearly improvement plan, called the Comprehensive Educational Plan (CEP), to ensure our students thrive. The SLT also reviews the school's programs, supports the principal, and makes sure the budget meets our community's needs.

Parent Association
At AmPark, we believe that when your child becomes a part of our community, so do you! Join the Parent Association (PA) and be an active participant in shaping your child’s educational journey.

There is another important change that can affect your SNAP benefits. Many people aged 18 to 64 could lose SNAP benefits if they do not meet new work requirements. To keep getting SNAP benefits, you will need to work or join an approved job training program for at least 80 hours each month or be exempt for another reason by March 1, 2026. If this might affect you, here is what to do:
Check your mail for notices from the NYC Human Resources Administration (HRA). If you or someone in your household is affected by the new work rules, you will get a letter. You can also check your status online at ACCESS HRA or call 718-SNAP-NOW (718-762-7669) to learn more or update your communication preferences.
Exceptions to the Work Requirement: Some people don't have to meet the work requirements if they meet certain conditions. For example, if you have a health condition that prevents you from working 20 hours a week or more, you can ask for an exception. To do this, you will need to ask your doctor to fill out a Medical Statement Form. You can bring this form to your doctor's office or share it through MyChart. There are other reasons you might be exempt, such as if you need to care for a family member under 14 years old. It is important that you share this information with HRA.
