AmPark: Where Learning and Community Thrive.

Welcome to AmPark Neighborhood School! Established through the dedicated efforts of the Amalgamated Housing Cooperative community, AmPark opened its doors on September 5, fulfilling a long-awaited dream for families in the Bronx. Our school is a vibrant and diverse PreK-5 learning environment nestled within the Amalgamated Park Reservoir Cooperative Housing community. With a strong foundation built on progressive education principles, we focus on making lessons developmentally appropriate, engaging, and hands-on, ensuring that children learn through exploration, inquiry, and collaboration.

Our thriving and active family community is at the heart of AmPark. We celebrate our school spirit through numerous events and traditions, including the March of Dimes Wonderwalk, AmPark Olympics, Festival of Lights, and our annual Spring Concert. These events showcase the strong partnership between families, teachers, and the community, reinforcing our commitment to fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. At AmPark, children are encouraged to engage with their peers, teachers, and a variety of classroom resources, developing independence, creativity, and a love for learning.

AmPark’s curriculum emphasizes project-based learning across all grades, integrating academic subjects with arts and outdoor education. From bird-watching tours with the Audubon Society for our 2nd graders to partnerships with local institutions like the Bronx Botanical Garden and Lehman Arts Gallery, we offer rich, hands-on experiences that make learning come alive. These collaborations ensure that every child has opportunities to explore their interests, talents, and curiosity in a supportive, dynamic environment.
